From home composting through to community composting schemes, compost is crucial to dealing with food waste and working towards a circular approach to earth resources. It is also one of the most accessible ways for many people to get engaged and involved with sustainability.

The addition of compost builds a healthy soil and so boosts the microbial activity, which provides food for hundreds of thousands of different species of fungi, bacteria and other organisms; these microorganisms are also food for a whole range of other organisms, which in turn are fed off by predators.
Our Community Compost focus is well on the way, with lots of opportunities for those of you wanting to get going with community composting projects.
