It’s time for a compost update!

The recent storm meant that we were unable to proceed with our Home Composting Masterclass with Nicky Scott and Mel Harvey, however, this popular event will be rescheduled for the new year. Keep an eye on our newsletter to hear about it!

In the meantime, feel free to peruse our library of composting resources. We have home composting factsheets on bokashis, daleks, biochar, and cones, as well as an array of compost workshop materials from SusSH Compost Mentor Ben Bryant’s workshops. We also have a comprehensive guide to Community Composting in the South Hams by Nicky Scott with everything you need to know to get a composting project started in your local community.

Recently, Jane Nichols, our CEO shared an update with fabulous Mycelium Network about the efforts in the South Hams to increase the volume of material that is composted locally. A key message here is around the value of collaboration with the local council, South Hams District Council. You can see a recording of the meeting here (Code ZN&wp5a4)

The Street Compost Club has identified two potential sites and is currently in the research and planning phase, watch this space in the new year!

We would like to welcome Ruth Leonard Williams as the new point of contact for all composting matters. If you have a composting event or query, please email Ruth at ruthlw@sussh.org.
