April’s Sustainable South Hams Group Leaders’ Gathering followed up the Rivers Assembly with updates from new partnerships and ongoing projects.
The Sustainable South Hams Rivers Assembly, the first of its kind in the UK, saw around 150 project, group and community leaders gather to share knowledge, discuss projects and develop new ideas.
With rising energy costs and a desire for sustainable solutions, interest in community energy projects is increasing rapidly. Two great opportunities to build your knowledge are coming up soon: the SusSH Energy Focus Group Leaders’ Gathering, and the Community Energy Spring Gathering with Devon Community Energy Network (DCEN).
Community talks, education and engagement with groups who can deliver tangible benefits. Trees are coming, rainwater butts are coming, a talk from the Seal project is happening soon and lots more in the pipeline.
Nature Recovery / Nature Conservation Training (young adults).
Engaging residents and visitors to conserve, enhance, and and value the South Devon National Landscape. Projects include Farming in Protected Landscapes, Access for All, biodiversity projects in the estuaries, coast, and landscape including Life on the Edge - restoring coastal species-rich grasslands for endangered invertebrates.
