South Devon National Landscape recently held elections for Community Representatives to join their Partnership.
The care and management of the South Devon National Landscape is co-ordinated by a broad partnership of organisations and community representatives. The Partnership takes a strategic view of the area, publishes the National Landscape Management Plan and oversees the work of the National Landscape Team.
The Partnership members bring a wide range of knowledge and expertise, representing different sectors, communities and agencies.

Businesses
Pete Moore
Director of Forest and Beach: a National Award-winning outdoor company specialising in engaging children and adults with the natural world and in particular the local coastline and countryside. New member.
Coast and marine
Richard Stones
Head of Commercial & Environment at Dart Harbour Authority.
Richard is an accomplished board director, entrepreneur, and conservationist with over 30 years experience working with conservation, tourism and marine organisations. New member.
Community or voluntary groups
Jane Nichols
Chief Executive of Sustainable South Hams which is a networking and knowledge sharing organisation. It’s purpose is to connect, support and inspire local climate and nature action. New member.
Environmental organisations (NGOs)
Ed Parr Ferris
Conservation Manager at Devon Wildlife Trust. In regular contact with: National Trust, Woodland Trust, Forestry England, Natural England, Westcountry Rivers Trust, RSPB, FWAG SW, Devon Local Nature Partnership, Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, Devon & Severn IFCA, MBA, Ocean Conservation Trust, FSC. Served on the Partnership since 2013.
Landowning and farming
Leah Harris
Newton Downs Farm. Director of organic family farm with close ties to organisations such as Riverford and the Innovative Farmers program led by the Soil Association, Leah is actively engaged in shaping sustainable farming practices and promoting community resilience. She also serves on the Farming in Protected Landscapes local panel. Served on the Partnership since March 2024.
Parish councils
Peter Hinchliffe
Parish Council Chair of Newton & Noss Parish Council. Peter has lived in South Devon for 40 years with a keen interest in the preservation of the countryside, climate change mitigation and adaptation. Served on the Partnership since November 2023.
Tourism
Laura Campbell
SW regional Rep for the Tourism Management Institute supporting and engaging local professionals and education programmes for new industry professionals. Also Involved with Dartmouth Chamber of Commerce, Board for Dartmouth Tourism and Business Hub, Dartmouth Visitor Centre. Served on the Partnership since 2021.
