April’s Sustainable South Hams Group Leaders’ Gathering followed up the Rivers Assembly with updates from new partnerships and ongoing projects.

More than twenty group leaders and organisation representatives met in Kingsbridge to share knowledge, experience and ideas.

A particular highlight of the meeting was finding out more about the newly formed Avon and Erme partnerships, which are aiming to connect organisations and experts along the length of the rivers, inspired by the Yealm Estuary to Moor Partnership.

The Group also heard about various projects and events, including the Bidwell Brook partnership, stream mapping projects for families, the ongoing work of the SusSH Rivers Scrutiny Group, Devon Wildlife Trust’s ‘Wilder Communities’ Project and the upcoming Kingsbridge Nature Festival.

Next month’s Group Leader’s Gathering will focus on Saving Earth Resources and “all the R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose, Refuse, Repair…”
