A Nature Recovery workshop will take place in the Old School Hall at The Mansion, Fore Street, Totnes on June 22nd, 1-3pm. This is one of a 3-part series in the Community Resilience Forum organised by Transition Town Totnes and will explore how we can live in harmony with nature for its essential recovery.

Speakers include:

Sam Manning, Site manager, Woodland Trust. Sam currently manages 1000 hectares of the Woodland Trust Estate in Dartmoor and South Devon, and acts as an outreach advisor for landowners in the SW for woodland creation and nature recovery. Currently supporting the development and delivery of the Woodland Trust’s Temperate Rainforest project in the South West.

He is offering the debut film screening of ‘Recovering the Rainforest’ a south west focused mini documentary on temperate rainforest restoration in the SW, followed by a presentation on nature recovery and temperate rainforest restoration and expansion in South Devon/Dartmoor.

Our local project representatives:

Jack Skuse from Ambios, a practical nature conservation and nature recovery training organisation based on their working farm on the Sharpham Estate, a prime example of local nature recovery in action.

John Severn from Cows in Clover, a conservation grazing enterprise that seeks to support local wildlife by grazing permanent pasture, and wildflower meadows, in a nature friendly way.

Booking is essential here.

The Forum will tie into a wider aim at Transition Town Totnes, to survey how we can meet international targets of protecting 30% of land and sea by 2030.
