Enthusiasm for community owned renewable energy has the potential to develop a substantial network of community energy with the support of National Grid.
Senior National Grid engineers have offered to meet personally with stakeholders in response to concerns around communication channels, the lengthy site evaluation process and paucity of information about potential alternative sites.
As part of the discussion around streamlining this process and enabling more projects to come to fruition, we are delighted to welcome Faithful Chanda (National Grid Development Engineer (Community Energy)) and Andy Langman (National Grid Plymouth).
They will meet with stakeholders at the South Brent Sustainability Hub at 2.30pm on Wednesday 7th December. Numbers will be limited to 25 – book here. For more information, contact louise@sussh.org.
Stakeholders in the sub-station areas of Modbury (Modbury, Kingston, Ringmore, Challaborough Bigbury-on-Sea part of St Ann’s) and Kingsbridge (Kingsbridge, Aveton Gifford, Bantham, Thurlestone, Marlborough and part of Bigbury Court and St Ann’s) are invited to attend a focused meeting with Faithful Chanda at St Ann’s Chapel Memorial Hall at 7pm on 7th December to identify potential local partners from neighbouring parishes in a community renewable energy project and hear from Faithful what the opportunities and constraints might be. This venue can host a larger group so no pre-booking is needed. Questions? Get in touch info@bigburynetzero.org
