Sustainable South Hams has received feedback from more than 50 parish, town and district councillors to help design an upcoming Climate and Nature Symposium for local representatives.

The Symposium, to be held on Friday 11th October, is an interactive event for councillors to learn more about climate and nature projects in the area as well as resources that are currently available to them. There will also be opportunity to help formulate useful resources for all councillors looking to take nature action and connect with local community groups.

With keynote presentations from Sune Nightingale, Katie Wilkinson, Isabel Carlilse, and Phil Jones, the event is set to share inspiring and easy actions that can be taken in every parish. This will be followed by a chance to network with exhibitors and exemplar projects such as Devon Wildlife Trust, South Devon National Landscapes, Devon Communities Together, CAG Devon, Bioregional Learning Centre, and more.

Spotlight sessions will include discussions on the South Hams Festival, adaption and resilience, nature recovery and connecting communities with food and farmers.

If you are a town, parish, or district councillor in South Hams, this event is a great opportunity to connect with others and discover ways that you can help to create positive change for climate and nature.
