Join us for our next Changemakers meeting to explore how to communicate climate change through community events and festivals. If you're a part of a community group, sustainability organisation or a town or parish councillor, please come and join us for this vital conversation.

Community events provide a huge opportunity to inform and mobilise our communities to take action that leads to behaviour change. The key messages shared and the methods used to convey them will influence the impact of these events. In June 2025, South Hams District Council is planning a district-wide arts festival themed around climate and biodiversity. Could this inspire our communities to create lasting positive change for climate and nature in the South Hams?

We will hear from Zoe Cooper and Jessica Magill from Exmouth Festival and Kate Benham, Pauline Wynter, and Scott Williams from Action on Climate for Teignbridge about their very successful events. They will share their key climate and sustainability messages, the most successful events and activities, and any lessons they have learned. We will also hear from Paul Liengaard from NDP Circus about plans for South Hams Arts Festival so far.

Please do join if you have an interest in communicating climate and nature to our wider communities through events and the arts. This is your opportunity to hear what has been successful for other events in other areas and to help shape the upcoming South Hams Arts Festival.

The event will be held in the Lovelance Room.

The event is free but booking is essential as space is limited. Please reserve your space via the link here.
